Hon. Minister Mr. Sudhir Mungantiwar, Finance & Planning Forests - Government of Maharashtra is in the process to achieve an ambitious target of planting 50 crore trees, that was initiated in 2017 and will end in 2019. In 2017, Forest department achieved the target of planting 4 crore trees and has set a new target of planting 13 crore trees in this year.
On 13th April 2018, a meeting was conducted by Forest department, Pune at Vanbhavan for planning the achievement of this year's target in the presence of Miss. Shreelaxmii Annabathula - Deputy Conservator of Forest, Mr M.P. Bhavsar - Assistant Conservator of Forest and NGOs representatives, who are participating in the 50 crore drive. TERRE has been an active part of this drive since 2017 and was instrumental in planting 19000 trees in Pune region. This year, TERRE has set a target of more than 50000 tree plantation in all the three forestry site in Pune and Alibag region: Mhalunge (Pune region), Dolvi and Karav (Alibag region) under CSR activity.
