Rabiz N. Foda, P.Eng. FEC (Fellow of Engineers Canada), Senior Member – IEEE, Member Institution of Engineering & Technology, UK, Chair of IEEE, Engineering & Human Environment Jt Chapter, Toronto Section. Currently with Hydro One in Toronto, Canada, Rabiz has extensive international experience in energy and utilities infrastructure development, design, engineering and project management, with electricity utilities, transmission and distribution systems, at nuclear, fossil fuel and hydro power plants, and engineering consulting firms. He has held senior positions as Director of Transmission Electricity of Western Region SA, Tata Electric Companies, India, Atomic Energy of Canada, etc.
He has extensive and varied Board level experience in professional, adjudicative and community organizations. Presently a member of the Experience Requirements Committee, Professional Engineers Ontario, member of the editorial team of PAN IIT Technology Review magazine (PiTech), member of Maytree Foundation Leadership Circle, Toronto, Toronto Region Immigration and Employment Council (TRIEC) – Circle of Champions, and member of Board at the Ministry of Health, Government of Ontario. Previous engagements include President of Indian Institutes of Technology Alumni Inc. Canada, member of the Executive Committee, “India Forum” at the Embassy of India, Director of "Panorama India” Toronto; guest lecturer at St. Bonaventure University, NY, USA for executive MBA programs.
Rabiz is a recipient of numerous awards and recognitions including Volunteer Service Award by Government of Ontario, Fellow of Engineers Canada, an award by the City of Markham, Ontario, The Mentoring Partnership, Toronto, and Distinguished Service Award from IIT Bombay, India, His biography has been published in Marquis Who’s Who publications, USA - “Who’s Who in the World”; “Who’s Who in Science and Engineering”; “Who’s Who in Finance and Industry” and “Who’s Who in America”
Rabiz pursued Canada-India Science & Technology initiatives and steered academic collaborations and steered Memorandum of Understanding (MOUs) between several universities in Canada, USA and Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT). Rabiz was chair / co-chair of international conferences, (IEEE, PAN IIT) conferences and session tracks and has presented, published papers. He is the Chair of the upcoming IEEE IHTC-2016 ( International Humanitarian Technology Conference) to be hosted in Toronto, Canada.
Rabiz has completed the advanced management program – Director Education Program (DEP) at the Rotman School of Management, the University of Toronto, holds a Graduate Diploma in Management Studies from University of Bombay and Bachelor of Technology (Honors) Degree in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, India. Rabiz is a Fellow of Engineers Canada, member of IET-UK, CIGRE - France, Society of Power Engineers, India, IEEE - USA. In his spare time, he is an artist painting with water-colors.
