Starting from Ayurveda in ancient times, many plants in India are considered as Medicinal. Therefore, along with the indigenous and fruit-flower bearing species, the plantation of Medicinal plants is also important.
On 25th May, TERRE Policy Centre visited the forest site at Khardi, near Thane for the upcoming afforestation project. TERRE is planning to create a Sanjeevani forest having all the medicinal plants at site. The project will be known as TERRE Sanjeevani Prakalp, where around 2000 medicinal plants will be planted and maintained by TERRE.
TERRE team has inspected the site for its geological and other environmental aspect to strategies the project implementation. The afforestation project of TERRE with social health care beneficiary initiative will embark a step towards healthy future.
