Green Olympiad 2016-17

To encourage the environmental awareness amongst the students, TERRE Policy Centre in collaboration with Forest Department had conducted an environmental theme based online quiz competition- Green Olympiad. The first round of the exam was conducted from 1st December to 10th January.

Water shed development project in Ahirwadi-Vandre Village, Mulshi, Pune

TERRE Policy Centre in collaboration with 100 Pipers Music CDs constructed a well at Vandre village in Pune District. Vandre village was facing water scarcity because of the geographical reasons. Vandre is a rain fed region of the Sahayadris where water runoff rate is high and storage of the rainwater is difficult. The well construction started on 5th June 2016.

Earth Care Awards 2016

JSW-Times of India Earth Care Award is an initiative which highlights locally evolved eco friendly practices in the production and consumption across multiple sectors with special reference to climate changes. The ECA has now completed its 7th edition of its successful journey that started in 2008. TERRE is an outreach partner for the award and CEE is the knowledge partner for this award. Applications, selections and the final nominations were in alignment with the ‘Smart City’ theme.

Environmental Education Training Program

TERRE Policy Centre had organized a series of Environmental Education Training Programs in different schools in Pune, in association with TATA Motors. The main purpose of the program was to train, aware and educate students regarding current environmental situations and their roll in the sustainable development. This program held in the month of September where we covered more than 2500 students.

Assessment of reduction Short-Lived Climate for Panvel City

The purpose of this Agreement is to cooperate with TERRE Policy Centre in implementing the approved project: Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC) to Reduce Short-Lived Climate Pollutants (SLCPs).This PCA is concluded within the context of the CCAC Mitigating SLCPS from the Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) Sector.

Dr Abdul kalam Young Scientist Fellowship

In reverential memory of late President and Scientist Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, TERRE Policy Centre, instituted the scheme for Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam Young Scientists Fellowship with the aim of distinguishing young scientists from rural areas of extraordinary promise and creativity who have made notable research contributions in in the field of Environment protection. This fellowship has been managed and funded by TERRE.
