Conference on Coastal Resilience

We are thrilled to announce the successful completion of our Conference on Coastal Resilience, held on October 21st, 2024, at MIT World Peace University (Seminar Hall), Pune. This collaborative initiative by the Global Nature Fund and TERRE Policy Centre brought together experts, conservationists, and community leaders to share insights on sustainable development and conservation.The event featured a welcome address by Dr. Vinita Apte (Founder & Director, TERRE Policy Centre), Dr. Ram Boojh (Advisor, Mobius Foundation), and Dr. Tarnnum Mulla (Mangrove Ecologist, Mangrove Foundation), followed by insightful presentations on topics such as coastal resilience, mangrove research and conservation, community-led conservation, and the cultural significance of coastal areas.Presenters included Dr. Ninad Raut (Associate Chief Manager, Wetland Management Mangroves, Godrej & Boyce Mfg. Co. Ltd.), Dr. Tarnnum Mulla (Mangrove Ecologist, Mangrove Foundation), Dr. Reshma Pitale (Research Scientist D at Bombay Natural History Society), Dr. Chandrima Sinha (Programme Manager, Planning & Monitoring at Nature Environment and Wildlife Society), Ms. Aradhana Amlathe (Research Associate, SaciWaters), and Dr. Samuel Sukumar (Project Manager, CreNIEO). A valedictory address was given by Ms. Katharine Gehrig (Project Manager, Global Nature Fund).
