Organized by Sustainable Initiative and TERRE Policy Centre
A workshop was successfully organized by Sustainable Initiative in collaboration with TERRE Policy Centre for the students of District Council Schools. With the help of Tata Autocomp Systems Ltd. this project was launched. The primary objective of this workshop was to instill an interest in environmental conservation among students and provide them with knowledge on how to preserve and protect nature.
Participation and Engagement:
The workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of Asakhed, Chandus, Koye, and Dhawadmala. On behalf of Ter Policy Center, Sagar Lakhotia and Gauri Bidkar conducted a workshop at Aaskhed and Dhavadmala District Council Schools. Similarly, Nikita Mahadik and Ketan Bhide conducted a workshop at Chandus and Koye District Council Schools. A total of 340 students from Grades 2 to 7 attended the session. The participation from four different schools highlighted the significance of the initiative and the interest of young minds in environmental issues.
Activities and Learning:
The workshop included various engaging activities such as:
Snakes and Ladders Game & Playing Cards – These games were designed with an environmental theme to help students understand ecological concepts in an interactive manner.
Crossword Puzzles & Quiz Sessions – Students participated in solving crossword puzzles and answering questions related to environmental conservation.
Objective and Impact:
The primary aim of the workshop was to create awareness among students regarding the importance of nature conservation. Through fun and interactive activities, students learned how they can contribute towards preserving the environment. By instilling such values at an early age, the workshop aimed to develop responsible future citizens who are conscious of their ecological footprint.
The initiative was a great success, leaving a lasting impression on the young minds and motivating them to take small yet significant steps towards environmental conservation.
