Though India serving in the era of modern technologies like Machine learning, artificial intelligence & robotics, IOT, automation, there is need of development for North East India Region in terms of basic community education, awareness about environment, community & its skills development. With the aim of development for North East, TERRE has initiated programs for North East India region like community based plantation drive, medical kit distribution for community, awareness creation between communities.
In partnership with Assam Forest Department, TERRE Policy Centre & local SHG has celebrated World Environment Day 5th June 2021, in Assam State of India. 250 saplings were planted in Mijung village. Because of state restriction for Covid-19 only 250 saplings have planted this year, after unlock TERRE will accelerate its work in north east region.
On 7th June 2021, TERRE Policy Centre conducted distribution drive in Mijung, Lumbajong block. 12 Chairs, 2 tables, 1 Water filter were handed over to The-ang self-help group (Local SHG), on the other hand face mask & sanitary napkins also distributed to villagers on the self-health hygiene point of view, so that local community will get aware and survive.
"Nature has given many things to humans to make summers bearable. Fruits that keep the body cool, trees that provide plenty of shade. But the animals and birds around us suffer a lot from the heat of the sun. We should fulfill our responsibility of providing them with water and shade. We should also protect the branches of trees and keep water in the windows. Only then the animals and birds will remain healthy. Let's reduce the temperature of the earth. Let's conserve the trees..!!"
