On August 6th, 2024, CReNiEO, in collaboration with the Global Nature Fund and German Cooperation, inaugurated a three-day National Forum in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, aimed at enhancing traditional civil society partnerships to strengthen coastal community resilience. TERRE Policy Centre, a partner in the Coastal Resilience Project, is participating in the forum. Key speakers include Dr. Vinitaa Apte (TERRE Policy Centre), Dr. Ravishankar Thupalli (JICA), Dr. Shanmuga Arasu (RGCA), Dr. Milon Sinha (NEWS), and Dr. Jayati Chourey (SaciWaters). The sessions are moderated by Dr. Samuel Sukumar, Dr. D. Vincent, and Mr. Meerasa, with Ms. Sushma Rao delivering the vote of thanks. The second day focused on training for empowering youth in policy advocacy for climate change. The forum concluded on 8th August 2024 with a visit to the Mangrove Integrated Aquaculture site.
