TERRE Policy Centre, in collaboration with the IOI Ocean Academy–India Programme and the International Ocean Institute (IOI), has successfully launched the 9th batch of its online Ocean Literacy Course titled “Ocean Literacy: Know Your Planet Beyond Land.” This comprehensive programme is designed to educate participants about the importance of oceans and their critical role in sustaining life on Earth, presented in an accessible and engaging manner.
The inauguration ceremony, held on March 26, was graced by Dr. Vinita Apte, Founder and Director of TERRE Policy Centre, and Ms. Sneha Karade, Project Leader at TERRE Policy Centre. They congratulated the participants for taking the initiative to deepen their understanding of ocean ecosystems and encouraged them to actively contribute to environmental conservation.
Concluding session on 8 th April 2026.During the conclusion, the speakers provided a comprehensive summary of all 10 sessions, and an assessment test was conducted for the participants. This initiative aims to promote ocean literacy and enhance awareness regarding the importance of the ocean to keep every individual knowledgeable and engaging.This course aims to foster ocean literacy, inspire responsible environmental behavior, and build awareness about the ocean’s indispensable role in maintaining the planet’s ecological balance.
