TERRE Policy Centre successfully completed its plantation activities in collaboration with TATA Motors and Gram Panchayat Kodit for the year 2024 at Kodit, Pune. For this year 5000 trees planted out of which 60% are fruiting trees and 40% are indigenous trees. Around 500 volunteers from TATA Motors actively participated in the plantation activity. Fruiting trees are beneficial for the villagers which help them to generate additional income, reduce soil erosion and improves water holding capacity. On the other hand, indigenous trees are vital for maintaining the ecological balance of the region.
