On 24th April, TERRE felicitated Prof. Ashok Gaidhane for his outstanding contribution in Environment education and awareness amongst Students. Prof. Gaidhane belongs to small village, Sakoli in Bhandara District.
Prof. Ashok Gaidhane was felicitated at the hands of TERRE President Dr. Vinitaa Apte. She congratulated the awardee on the receipt of the award and explained the motive behind the initiative, ‘Prakashache Bet’ in her key note address. Later Prof. Gaidhane gave a presentation which included all his activities and projects. He is mainly working with students for making them more and more aware about the environment. He also organizes many competitions by which students come closer to the environment. He has inspired 100 students to be snake catchers till date and has saved more than 20,000 snakes from getting killed. He also organizes Nature Camps in summer and Diwali vacations and introduces the children to biodiversity and other environmental concepts.
TERRE is proud to felicitate Prof. Ashok Gaidhane for his continuous efforts and wishes him a good luck for his upcoming activities.
