TERRE Policy Centre successfully conducted a large-scale Tree Plantation Drive and volunteering activity from 4 August to 19 August 2026 at Kodit Kh Gairan, with the support of TMGSL, TMCVL, and TMPVL under the CSR initiative of Tata Motors. The initiative brought together employees, union leaders, the HR and CSR teams, and volunteers with a shared commitment to environmental conservation and ecological restoration.
The plantation activity was formally inaugurated by the Union Leaders of Tata Motors, along with representatives from the HR and CSR Teams of Tata Motors, marking the beginning of this ambitious environmental initiative. The inauguration highlighted the collective efforts towards creating greener and healthier ecosystems.
Around 1,500–2,000 participants actively took part in the plantation and volunteering activities throughout the programme. Their enthusiastic participation reflected a strong commitment towards environmental conservation, ecological restoration, and sustainable development.
As part of this year’s programme, TERRE Policy Centre is implementing a Miyawaki forest plantation model, a high-density plantation technique designed to establish diverse and fast-growing urban and peri-urban forests. The project focuses on planting a variety of indigenous species to create a resilient and biodiverse green ecosystem.
The Miyawaki plantation at Kodit Kh Gairan aims to enhance biodiversity, improve soil quality, increase green cover, support local ecosystems, and contribute to long-term climate resilience in the region. The initiative also provides an opportunity for volunteers to actively participate in nature conservation and understand the importance of restoring degraded landscapes.
The successful completion of the plantation and volunteering activities demonstrates the power of collaborative environmental action. Through the continued support of Tata Motors and the active participation of its employees and volunteers, TERRE Policy Centre remains committed to creating sustainable green spaces and promoting a culture of environmental responsibility.
TERRE Policy Centre extends its sincere appreciation to TMGSL, TMCVL, TMPVL, Tata Motors’ Union Leaders, HR and CSR Teams, and all the volunteers whose valuable participation contributed to the success of this plantation initiative.
