The Green Fluencer Academy was virtually inaugurated on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, marking a significant step towards empowering young minds to take action against climate change.
The academy was inaugurated by Kavita Kerawalla, Vice Chairperson, who addressed the audience on the importance of the initiative. She emphasised the need to nurture environmentally conscious students and encouraged collective responsibility towards building a sustainable future.
The event was graced by distinguished dignitaries, including Chief Guest Dr. Rajendra Shinde, Former Principal of St. Xavier’s College, Fort, and currently Director of HSNC University, Worli. In his address, he highlighted that climate change is not a distant threat but a present-day reality, stressing the urgency of immediate and sustained action.
The Special Guest, Dr. Vinita Apte, Founder and Director of TERRE Policy Centre, Pune, delivered an inspiring keynote. She urged students to move beyond ideas into action with her powerful message: “Think is good, act is better. We are with you to act against climate change.” She also acknowledged the importance of youth-led initiatives in addressing global environmental challenges.
The Green Fluencer Academy is guided by a strong advisory panel comprising Dr. Rajendra Shinde, Dr. Vinita Apte, along with two VIBGYOR alumni, Sonakshi Yadav and Neel Solanki, who are actively contributing towards sustainability and environmental awareness.
The virtual event witnessed participation from students and educators, reinforcing a shared commitment to climate action. The Green Fluencer Academy aims to inspire and equip students to become proactive environmental leaders and change-makers.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Shailesh Khadtare, reinforcing the shared vision of building a sustainable future.
The event saw participation from VIBGYOR alumni in the sustainability sector, school leaders, VERTEX representatives, and international partner schools from the Netherlands and Germany, reflecting strong global collaboration.
