International Water Institute Conference on water peace

The International Water Institute, Jodhpur, in collaboration with the Drought Flood World People's Commission, organized a Water Peace Conference from March 14th to 16th. The event drew water scientists, social workers, vice-chancellors of universities, and professor scientists from across the country. Chaired by Jodhpur University's Vice-Chancellor, Shri K C Srivastava, with water advocate Rajendra Singh as the chief guest, notable attendees included Dr. Vinita Apte, Founder & Director of TERRE Policy Centre, and Former Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Rajendra Tiwari, along with Directors from NHI Roorkee, IIT Madras, IIT Gandhinagar Gujarat, and IIT Delhi. Discussions centered on actions required for water peace, integrating education and knowledge, and how the global fight for water can foster peace, with participants sharing their views on these crucial topics. Jalpurush Rajendra Singh emphasized during his address that the world currently faces crises of floods and droughts, emphasizing the need for collective efforts and the formation of a dedicated team for water conservation.
