TERRE organised Prakashache Bet to award Mr. Premsagar G. Mestri for his outstanding contribution in Vulture Conservation on 29th November, 2017. The program began with the screening of Vasundhara Geet produced by TERRE Policy Centre. TERRE President Dr. Vinitaa Apte introduced TERRE's activities and projects to audience in her key note speech.
Mr. Mestri presented many photographs sharing his experience and memories. He showed video footage of vultures and Horn bill. It was a proud moment for TERRE to appreciate such budding personalities who are working for environment conservation throughout on an individual level. Mr. Mestri was awarded a trophy and a certificate as an acknowledgment and appreciation by Dr. Vinitaa Apte.
Tribal communities worshipped nature in different forms. Through their traditional practices and knowledge, tribal people help in conservation of environment and biodiversity. 9th August is celebrated as tribal day! I am very sure the tribes are real unsung heroes who are protecting environment.!!
