TERRE is actively involved in the conservation issues at North eastern landscape at Bakalia District, Assam

On 13th of August 2020, TERRE team member has visited the school named as All Saint Schools, Bakalia district of Assam. This visit was followed with an Interaction with the school teachers regarding the need of environmental education and awareness among the students and the available sources for the same. The interaction was followed with a small demo on TERRE Olympiad exam and current environmental status to make student more aware regarding different environmental aspects like wildlife, biodiversity conservation, Watershed Development and different ecosystem.

Mr. Sudhir Shrivastav (Chairman MPCB), was the key speakers of the virtual event. the event was followed with the guidance and experience of other main speakers as Mr. A. A. Shingare (IAS Member Secretary, MPCB), Dr. V. M. Motghare(Joint Director, MPCB). Dr Vinitaa Apte (TERRE Policy Centre), Dr SandipSalvi (Chest Research and Training Pvt. Ltd), Ms Tejashri Joshi, (Godrej & Boyce Mfg. Co. Ltd), Mr AtulSanghal, (Emergent Venture India) were also invited as a guest speaker for the event.

Tribal communities worshipped nature in different forms. Through their traditional practices and knowledge, tribal people help in conservation of environment and biodiversity. 9th August is celebrated as tribal day! I am very sure the tribes are real unsung heroes who are protecting environment.!!
